Brunch, a delightful fusion of breakfast and lunch, has become more than just a meal; it’s a celebration of friends, family, and good food. For Lorraine Consunji and her husband Dave, founders of Brunch Bureau, the love for brunching inspired them to create a haven for fellow brunch enthusiasts. The establishment not only serves delectable comfort dishes but also boasts award-winning Australian coffee from Seven Seeds Roasters, making it a unique and must-visit destination for coffee lovers.

Lorraine shared her passion for brunch, stating, “My husband and I and our partners really love brunching. It’s like a celebration of friends and family, and it’s a good way to catch up. And we love eating, and with brunch comes really good coffee.”

This passion led them to introduce the concept of boozy brunch, complete with cocktails. The inspiration behind the branding, featuring Mimosa glasses as the logo, was rooted in creating a memorable experience for customers.

The partnership with Seven Seeds Australia, renowned for its exceptional coffee, began with a serendipitous encounter during the couple’s visit to Melbourne in 2018. Lorraine shared, “We stumbled upon Seven Seeds during that trip, and we were really impressed by it. We thought of bringing it here and sharing it with everyone because what we learned from the previous coffee shop experience is that most Filipinos really love the chocolatey kind of coffee.”

Seven Seeds’ commitment to quality and willingness to supply wholesale to the Philippines made the partnership possible. Brunch Bureau now proudly serves Seven Seeds’ house blends, including the quintessential Melbourne coffee blend, the House Blend, and the bolder and punchier Golden Gate Blend.

Addressing the possibility of bringing Philippine coffee to Australia, Jules Dilizia, representing Seven Seeds, expressed interest. “We’re exploring coffees from Southeast Asia, including the Philippines. There’s some really exciting new coffees coming out of those areas.”

As Brunch Bureau continues to evolve, the founders look forward to collaborating more with Seven Seeds on unique blends and exploring trends in the ever-expanding world of coffee. For first-time visitors, both Jules and Lorraine recommend trying the Golden Gate and House Blends, describing them as both fantastic and a perfect introduction to the rich flavors Seven Seeds has to offer.

As for the food, culinary consultant RJ Ungco and his team crafted a comforting and satisfying menu full of the familiar and the delightfully absurd, taking inspiration from “global brunch scenes”. While the concept of brunch is familiar, their flavors and presentation are definitely anything but average.
